Moving Again

4:08 AM

That's right, people. I am moving yet again. This makes the second time in under a year. In about a month and a half, my mom and I will be relocating to Jackson, Mississippi. To be honest, I'm not thrilled. Mississippi is an incredibly backwards state, what with their anti-LGBT bill and more recent law signed by Governor Phil Bryant allowing guns in church.
You read that correctly. You have the right to refuse a gay person service and carry your gun in church in Mississippi. Yeehaw!

But it's a temporary stop while I attend cosmetology school, get a bit of work under my belt, and move on. I guess it could be worse; I could be moving to the middle of nowhere in Mississippi where they still have dial-up internet.

There are so amazing restaurants and beautiful buildings in Jackson, and it's not terribly far from the coast, which will be nice. I'm sure I'll rant about the bigotry there, but there will also be bright spots, too. I'm determined to make the best of it, damnit.

Has anyone else lived somewhere they hated?

    1. That sounds equally horrible. Delhi is a gorgeous city from what I've seen in pictures! I'm glad you love it there.

  2. I almost moved to a place I'd hate. Not for the politics, but for the water. I'm mighty picky about my water.

If that's the worst of Mississippi, I might move there! I can't stand the political constipation in California, but sounds like CA would be your kind of state. :)

    1. The water in Mississippi also sucks. There's also the blatant racism and sexism, but hey, different strokes for different folks.
